China Jiliang University


China Jiliang University (CJLU) situated in Hangzhou, the capital with beautiful tourism attraction of Zhejiang Province, is a well-known university for metrology since 1978. It covers an area of about 1580 mus (260 acres). It has been the only university qualified to award Bachelor and Master degrees in the sectors of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China. It is a provincial key university with distinctive features of metrology, standardization, and quality supervision. CJLU is a comprehensive university with various disciplines involving engineering, science, management, law, literature, economics, medicine, philosophy, among which engineering is the focus. It has 19 colleges, 45 specialties,and about 19,000 full-time students. There are one provincial “Key of the Key” discipline, provincial key base for humanities and social science, 6 provincial key disciplines, 29 master-awarding institutes and 3 domains for engineering masters.

Adhering to open educational policy, CJLU has established the stable partnership with more than 20 universities and research institutions from over 10 countries and regions including United State of America, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Philippine, etc. The university has a joint undergraduate educational program with Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand in the major of Computer Science and Technology. Each year, the university dispatches excellent faculty and students to go abroad for studying, lecturing and academic exchanging. Meanwhile the university invites foreign experts and scholars to give lectures and to do research work. CJLU has undertaken more than 10 international cooperation projects, and constructed some laboratories with foreign enterprises such as ZILOG, Fluke and so on. CJLU has held international seminars on standardization, international summits on measurement, quality, standard, and a series of high level international conference on WSEAS instrument, the measurement, circuits and systems.

 

 

Covering an area of 1, 180 Chinese mu (an equivalent of about 195 acres) and located in the Xiasha Higher Education Distric in Hangzhou, CJLU’s new campus is modern and unique in design with a simple and bright architectural style. It is a beautiful and tranquil campus equipped with modern teaching and research facilities and a sound campus computer network that facilitates automatic office work. The then Chinese Premier Mr. Li Lanqing commented during his visit to CJLU in April 2002 to say: “This is a modern university.We must run it well.”

Accommodation is provided in the Fangyuan North Building of China Jiliang University.

Facilities of the Room: Desks, chairs, bookcase, air-conditioner, hot water, telephone and network interface.

Library

The University library houses over 1.04 million volumes of books with a regular subscription of around 1,831 Chinese and foreign periodicals. It has established relations for academic exchange and cooperation with famous colleges and universities in the U.S.A., France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Australia, and famous universities in China such as Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiaotong University.
