My bro the most common cause of acute chest pain is related to heart ,I would like to give some examples ,like aortic dissection in which inner layer of aorta get separated and blood occurs between and because of which Chest pain is felt ,also Angina pectoris and mycordial infarction also result in acute chest pain, other causes include pericarditis, atrial fibrillation so in these cases it's better to do ECG first, CT is only used in unexplained cases,so I choose ECG

my dear brother you need to learn some more differentials apart from heart diseases for acute chest pain.. its not only heart disease that gives acute chest pain. One can have acute chest pain from Tension pneumothorax, Boerhaav syndrome, Aortic dissection, Panic attack, GERD ,cocaine toxicity etc. Reason why we do ECG first because heart is the major and the vital organ of our body , if we start by ruling out other diseases the patient might endup with heart attack and ultimately death(ischmia induced ventricular Arrhythmias) .you have very less time for treating Ischemic heart diseases thats why ECG is done first.
you said Heart disease are the common causes of chest pain but in reality only 10% of acute chest pain are related to heart disease and majority of them are from GERD.
so considering doing ECG first thinking of heart disease as common cause of acute chest pain is i think a wrong concept.
